Hi Greg — I am a big fan of cryonics and a life member of the Cryonics Institute. I used to have life insurance for cryonics, and perhaps I will have one again, or find other ways to pay.
I have many friends in the cryonics community (including Alcor’s co-founder Linda Chamberlain and current CEO Max More), and I must say that some of them dislike my ideas on technological resurrection and/or spontaneous afterlife because, they think, these ideas could distract and deter people from cryonics. In my opinion, the two approaches have nothing to do with each other and can peacefully coexist (or even support each other).
I am VERY interested in:
Heinlein rejected a free freeze, thinking it might interfere with his “next stage, whatever it is.”
I am looking for the source of this quote. If it is something that Heinlein told you, could you share more?
